| Since 1986 Country Oil has been supplying home heating oil and plumbing services to residents of Franklin County, Southern Vermont, and Southern New Hampshire. In the Spring of 2008, the staff at Country Oil began to ask themselves what other energy options are available for consumers, as heating oil prices started the climb to $147.00 per barrel, then back down to $45.00 in the spring of 2009. As an energy supplier of heating oil we asked ourselves - what can we do to give our customers relief in a meaningful way? We considered coal deliveries which have ample supplies in the United States, then we explored wood pellets but supplies became limited and the storage space needed was a problem. Our customers could switch to propane or natural gas and even electric heat, but that has its own issues at certain times just as oil does. We thought customers could always go back to cutting cord wood but then our backyards would go bare and our forests would become barren. After much thought, we found the answer to finding alternative energy and it is free, and it has an unlimited supply for every person who chooses to harness it. It is called the SUN and it has enormous potential. The new technology allows anyone to use the power of the sun in a meaningful way.
